KINFOLK: An Ode To Your Fave Crew

When I lived in Brooklyn, Daisy (feels good to think of her) and I had a Sunday ritual; church, brunch with friends, and Target. One of our favorite and highly frequented spots was Brooklyn Moon owned by our friend Mike. The guy who’s IG says “If you need Mike text him.” It was that spot. The neighborhood joint you could count on for the vibes, dee-licious scrumptious food, and an interesting lesson in the art of fung shui sidewalk furniture. Aside from his delectable main menu Brooklyn Moon ran a $10 recession special. This was ahead of any ghost menu, but if you were a regular you knew what was up. Salmon, jerk wings, a mixed greens salad with a homemade honey mustard vinaigrette. C’mon, how Sway? To this day I don’t know how, but I understand. It served such a greater purpose beyond a hook-up. Mike was filling folks’ bellies, saving community, and reminding us there was a safe place thinking of them and the endless possibilities of what they faced in their daily life.

You could taste it in every bite. As two California girls with a heart for the East Coast, we found a sense of home in New York, in our Fulton Street radius. A huge part of that era is centered around the memories and the people we did life with in the BIG little Fort Green community.

In the spirit of Mike’s Recession Special, our signature logo kinfolk. and the heart of The Community Apparel ethos is available in a black or white T-shirt, in all sizes for a post-pandemic, the cost of living is way too high, and the hoopty still needs petro special for $10. It's for us! For your peeps, your crew, your fam. "Your homegirl standing to your left and your right." It's for our kinfolkPERIOD. To wear quality athleisure apparel centered around the pride and joy in our people.

Do your holidays differently this year. Available in all sizes and in black and white. It’s great for family photos or gifting and it will last longer than 2 gallons of gas. We know, we got you!

xx Love.
